Up to what income can my wife earn to be claimed as a dependant

Question

From: JM T.
Province: Ontario

My wife does not work so i claim her every year. My question is: How much income can she make without affecting the amount of dollars i get from claiming her as a dependent?

Answer

Hi JM T,

You can claim your wife as a dependant as long as her income is less than $10,527 for 2011.

I hope this has answered your question.
